A skycap primarily checks customer luggage for the airline and may issue boarding passes.  This is a tipping profession.  Occasionally I would help passengers in wheelchairs to their gates.  Primarily I was stationed at the airport departures terminal but sometimes assisted in arrivals as needed.  I enjoyed greeting the arriving flights as we navigated the jet bridge to meet the aircraft.
